Digital Silva is a fresh and new start-up founded by a forestry student at Purdue University to bridge the gap between the farthest reaches of current technology and the needs of those who manage land and infrastructure.

Here at Digital Silva our Christian values guide our business in everything we do. We have four core principles: serve others, train daily, play fair, and hold no ego. We pledge to tithe a minimum of 10% of our annual profits to religious organizations and other not-for-profits including veteran service organizations. We also are pledging an additional 5% of our yearly profits towards environmental causes and conservation.

Meet the team

Joe House - CEO/Founder

Joe is a non-traditional undergraduate student at Purdue University, majoring in Forestry with a concentration in Forest Management, set to graduate in spring 2025. He is an Eagle Scout from Troop 974 in West Chester, Ohio, and he continues his involvement in scouting as a Merit Badge Counselor for the Sagamore Council in Indiana. His diverse background includes experience as a Firefighter/EMT, outdoor retail, land management, and service in the Indiana Army National Guard, including a deployment to Kosovo with the guard in support of KFOR. At Purdue, Joe works in the Forest Advanced Computing and Artificial Intelligence Lab, focusing on forest carbon, matrix models, and biodiversity database analysis. He founded Digital Silva in August 2024, to provide NDAA-compliant digital natural resources solutions to land managers and those who maintain infrastructure. Joe's interests span many outdoor activities, conservation, remote sensing, and cooking. He lives in West Lafayette, Indiana with his wife and dog, balancing his studies, research, and personal life while maintaining a positive attitude towards challenges.
